As you know there is a single vacant seat for the Board of Directors, currently I am compiling a list of recycled characters I've had and using them as potential candidates with their own political viewpoints.
Serious Contenders
Jonathan Fishman
Background: Social science (anthropology and sociology)
Affiliation: Progressives (Centre-left)
Son of recently deceased former last of the Old Guard Board member Stanley Fishman. It is feared within the Board that Fishman jr would continue Stanley's penny pinching ways. However it seems that Fishman jr is more interested in solving Delta City's issues with poverty over fiscal policy. Fishman jr lies left of centre on the political spectrum and advocates putting Research and Development spending in the Discovery District towards finding out why areas like Old Lakeshore are so poverty stricken and acting accordingly. Fishman Jr. is very cosmopolitan and has travelled all over the world studying various cultures and societies (especially martial arts). On fiscal policy Fishman jr is open to trade between other cities (establishing partnership or sister cities to Delta).
What makes Fishman jr a great contender is how he has been groomed for years to take this prestigious position by his father as well as moving up the ladder within Machiavelli Tower. This though could end up hurting him in the long run. Also in the public eye Fishman jr is seen as an elite, a Machiavelli bred contender. Fishman jr has this Big Brother/condescending feel about him when speaking to the commoners using terms like "Through research we'll find out exactly why you are struggling" instead of saying something along the lines of "We'll talk to everyone directly". Still Fishman jr's poverty fighting with a dash of fiscal policy knowledge makes him a serious contender.
James Petraeus
Background: Military (Combat instructor)
Affiliation: Transhumanists (Moderate)
Former U.S. Marine James Petraeus has spent years trying to shed that label. In public he avoids mentioning his military background and will only speak about it when asked. He has now focused on building up his credibility in public service but remains a relative newbie in this sense. Still Petraeus brings in his military knowledge to the table especially when it comes to strategy and technology. Petraeus advocates building a customer's army within Delta City and putting Research and Development spending towards defense. Although Petraeus doesn't have a lot of experience in foreign policy he did live in England for awhile and established connections there (but not nearly as much as someone like Fishman jr.) Ultimately Petraeus remains a fringe contender that is supported mostly by independents. His lack of experience is pretty daunting.
Police Chief Jennifer "Snowjay" Snow
Background: Law Enforcement (Delta City Chief of Police)
Affiliation: Independent (Lies somewhere in-between being a Progressive and Transhumanist but generally speaking has a Liberal worldview)
Jennifer Snow has long been a controversial figure that somehow has not stopped her meteoric rise within the Delta City police department (Thanks in part to Carlos Dos Santos). Her sexual and NHB fighting escapades as well as having relationships with ex-cons (and other "interesting" characters) would make her seem like a terrible PR candidate. However it cannot be denied that Snow does a terrific job as Chief of Police, crime has dropped significantly during her reign combining love and tough love. Being a rare female Chief of Police also has given her a very alluring quality. Also interesting to note is Snow herself has Agent-esque powers of increased focus and accuracy, with the media calling her an "Agent candidate for Board of Directors". It is unknown exactly the kind of platform Snow would advocate, though it is expected that she would be a "compromise candidate" for those who fall in the middle of Progressivism and Transhumanism.
Anthony "Tony" Young (formerly Anton DeJonge)
Background: Business and motivational speaking
Affiliation: Progressives (centre-left)
The hulking giant with a heart of gold Anthony Young, was originally born in the Netherlands but moved to Los Angeles in his 30s. While in Los Angeles he had the goal of becoming a film and voice actor using his combination of size, powerful voice and martial arts ability. Unfortunately his thick Dutch accent prevented him from doing this. Young though worked hard on Americanizing his image and modifying his voice (he even changed his name legally from Anton DeJonge to Anthony Young). Young became excited about his ability to assimilate into American culture so much that he decided to live the American dream. Start a business doing motivational speaking talking about various topics including empowerment through martial arts training (Young holds black belts in Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, and Korean Yudo) Tony Young is now a millionaire and owns the Tony Young motivational speaking empire which is now headquartered in Delta City. Opponents scoff at Young being a "celebrity" candidate and only interested in his own career development over the problems Delta City's customers deal with on a regular basis. Still Young's celebrity, speaking skills, and business savvy could bring in more people than expected.
